Advanced Software Technology Group

– Provide application software development and maintenance

– Provide performance tuning of large scientific modeling codes

– Advocate professional software engineering practices to reduce complexity, cost, risk

– Provide services to migrate and convert codes between heterogeneous hardware platforms

+ Scientific Visualization Studio

– Provide visualization services for a wide range of Earth and Space science customers

– Produce scientific visualizations targeted at Center and Agency management, policy makers, and the general public

– Develop visualization applications for use as analysis tools by scientists

Education and Public Outreach Group

– Provide freely-available scientific visualizations of Earth Science research through web-based publications

– Develop products for educators (schools, museums, etc.)

– Serve as an advocate and coordinating interface for the diverse range of education and public outreach programs within the Earth Sciences Division

Projects Group

–Demonstrate the value of implementing sensor web concepts for meteorological use cases

- Quantify cost savings to missions

- Quantify improvement in achieving science goals

- Design and build an integrated simulator with functional elements that will allow multiple "what if" scenarios in which different configurations of sensors, communication networks, numerical models, data analysis systems, and targeting techniques may be tested.
